Jan Lucas

Jan Lukas studied Molecular Genetics at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany, and earned his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Rostock in 2014. Following his doctoral studies, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Albrecht-Kossel-Institute (AKos) within the University Medical Center Rostock. Currently, he leads the Medical Genetics unit at AKos, where his research focuses on the biology of rare inherited metabolic disorders. His primary interest lies in investigating mutant proteins associated with various genetic diseases, with a special emphasis on understanding how protein folding defects contribute to pathogenesis.
